I have been debating and am now opening this up for debate/vote. Should I lock all the forums from guests and have a special group called guests(registered but not allowed to see many subforums)? I have seen the guest numbers hover around 20 per a day but no real activity from them. Also I want to prevent the leaks of information to other forums that are consistant with the past two years.
So in that, Vote/Debate what you all feel is right... I am on the fence right now on how to deal with such things and also how to prevent the leakage to other forums.
With that being said, I am not like a Paradox Interactive Moderator At least on my forum and my releases etc I expect Respect as a human being. Part of that is realizing that there are things on this forum that should not be copied/pasted without permission like it has been in the past.
I hope to see a more collective point of view than in the past polls and hopefully there is some rather insightful debate.
Thank you, Drew

If you don't want information getting out, then you definitely need to at least lock those parts. If any guest can see them, then there's no way of protecting any info you want protected there. Locking most of it, with an 'open' area so people can say hello, is a way lots of forums work. Just my 2 cents in case it helps, it's your forum .

I left it open to debate due to the sheer amount of trolls and like that I have experienced along with people copying and pasting from this forum to others(PDS, etc) So I got tired of it... Now that I wont be on the OT of the PDS forum so much, I figured I would limit access but how much is too much was my next question. So the Homepage needs fixed to reflect changes and the like when things come, but right now I am letting it be and just not announcing much if anything at all until its fixed. Only true announcement that guests need to see is the post production announcement in my opinion, Nothing about the games themselves while developing or work is being done. What do you think?(why I opened this thread lol) Should it be as I stated or even more restricted to only a general forum where they are limited to what they can do(IE no starting threads, etc)?

I'd say an open area where guests can start threads and see what's happening, but have most of the work in a sub-forum that isn't open for viewing or access except to members. Just my 2 cents though .

So pretty much lock down the homepage to members only and like and make them only able to go to the developer diary area and the general OT for visitors? I am trying to remember the actual subforum that would be best for them to see
