These are things I am looking at as a designer of games... how to make more information seem fun... That is part of playing already released games.
OK OK OK, I have been playing alot of Hearts of Iron 3 For the Motherland here lately and come up with a few questions(some of which can be defined by any HOI game)....
1. How would you make the Order of Battle make more sense??? I mean honestly the pool of commanders go so far and its mostly divisional commands. Rarely do you have a real Leader as what you want, list goes on and on. So what suggestions were you all to make IF I was to do same thing later down the road?
2. How would you expand the economic models? I mean really energy, metals, rare minerals, money, supplies, oil, fuel? What else really needs to be added to be complete?
3. Production/Industry, How would you overhaul it? Honestly serious question here...
4. Politics, How would that be better?
5. How playing as different nations can be better? Would adding a legislative section to the USA be better, OR for that matter Great Britain with the Parliament?
6. What historical/plausible HISTORICAL outcomes would you like to see played out?
7. trade automization, would it be better if it was nation specific?
8. Would this game be better if it used plausible populational figures for recruitment?
9. Should the Unit list be expanded upon, IE PT boats, Frigates, etc?
10. Should, say for the USA, Slipyards; dry docks; boat docks;etc be modeled?
For that matter why dont we do some other games also....
Victoria 2...
1. What about the Economy do you like?
2. Do you like how the production is handled in this game?
3. Do you like the budget screen?
4. The different populations and cultures, do they add anything to the games?
5. Would it be better if you could determine who gets a loan from the national bank?
6. Navy have more ships to build or less? IE different types of frigates, etc?
7. Should companies be able to make their own deals without going through government?
8. Great public works and figures be added?
Now to EU4...(most of which will be for EU series)
1. Famous people introductions???
2. trade be meaningful?
3. Grain and such commmodities have more importance?
4. Slave trade be more important?
5. Colonists rebelling due to real issues, not due to some number crunching figures?
6. trade routes be more dynamic in nature?
list can go on, stopping at six lol. May add more later.
