If meaning plants, it's over 7k. If meaning political tech, it's over 300 variants. If meaning social advances, it's over a million. If religion, it's over 5,000. If talking about governmental, it's over 9,000 variants. If talking weaponry, there's at the moment only 14,000 types. If talking economic goods, there's over 90,000.

That's just an example of "trees" that I utilized in past to throw people off of what I'm really working on. I mean most games use technology "trees" and like so I just utilized same terminology to describe research I did at the time. Truthfully, I enjoyed the Arbor research as much as others.

Hello all,

As promised I would be doing a forum only update and an exclusive update for the members of the forum. I am currently doing as this straw poll wanted. Majority of people wanted in one way or another for me to work on my own games instead of trying to mod others. So I am taking that to mean that most want to be able to play a series of games from paleolithic era onward. Thank you goes out to those that did that poll and I will be conducting more of those later. That being said, I also have a inventive new way of doing high scores(not even really a scoring system needed ;)) Besides all that, I am still working on many aspects that I dont at right now have liberty to talk about. But I will show you a possible code axample for a difficulty level :

IF (setting is set to A) {
use simple file A;
Use simple file B;
Use simple file C;
Use simple file D;
(list goes on)
}

IF (simple file A) {

Use economic model simple; - another file
Set Resources = stone, wood, food, metals, gems, animals;
}

Thats All I am able at this time to release :P But should give idea on a few things, if work out well in testing shall be new and inventive. Remember though only part that is 100% correct is set resources =. Everything else is vague or subject to extreme changes. Thank you for your time...

I will answer any questions before, during, and after the RP. The roleplaying game will be turn based and on a predetermined cycle. It will be 750,000bc to 250,000 bc and events and the like will be used in the series to come, I will be using the data collected and player inputs to improve on the series as a whole. I hope you all if have any questions will feel free to ask me.

A I am not comfortable at this time discussing the way I will reflect economic cycles and such, but yes I will be looking into various factors to show how the real world economy flows as it was the cause of the rise and fall of empires/countries.

B. I see an economic crash that will renew some countries and force others into submission. too many answers to the second and third question, will post them later after had time to think. Factors contributing are low spending into infrastructure in the USA, USA not having the jobs for the people IE unemployment figures and disabled figures... People look to disability when there are no jobs. etc etc

How will you project the inflation amounts, depressions, economic crashes, and more in the game? IE how are you going to model a real world economy in a game? What factors will be checked to influence market "" events? Etc.?



Also Where do you see the World economy in the next five years... What would cause it not to happen that way or to happen differently? What prevention can you foresee failing/causing it to be worse? What factors do you believe are contributing to your prediction?

The Carrier classes of CVE/CVL/CV.CVN/CVSN/CVLN/CVEN etc would have what? SS, SSN, SSBN, SSGN, SSE would be what? oh opps erm what is CVSN, CSVLN, CSVEN, SSE, SSEB, SSEG unit types" from mechanics RP... Any guesses? Also any guesses if there are other types of equipment that determine unit type that has been thought of?


So what do you all think? Do I have surprises up my sleeve or can you all figure the question out and guess if there are other equipment types and what unit types are going to be represented or if there arent any others at this time? Answers may surprise you and me :P... Talk soon, Drew

So ran into a problem with making the games... I want to be as detailed as I can be, but each map projection(UMT/GPS/etc) has distortions and like that I would have to compensate for. So I made the poll to see what you all think, should I make my own or use already made ones?

Hey Drew, a bit out of it at the moment, so take any of my thoughts with several kilos of salt, but I think the key to the tech tree is useability and making sure it works well with the various gameplay elements you've got in place. So, for example, for Civ, I find that tech tree large enough, and found beyond earth's a tiny bit beyond what I was comfortable with, but that was partly because both are fairly unfocussed, so you have to think about them all at once. Hearts of Iron 3, on the other hand, has far more techs but its also far more focussed, so I found it easier than a Civ/Beyond Earth tech tree. HoI3's tech tree had issues (far too fiddly), but it was fairly easy to cope with the size of it once you knew how everything was categorised.

Only members may take part as per poll I did a few weeks ago. I apologize if this limits the amount of people that want to take part. The Forum RP will start as soon as I get everything laid out like I did for the last one, Alot more technologies and possible GUI for the tech tree, alot more items, more modifiers, etc. This RP will be made just like the game and WHILE the game is being coded. The RP is scheduled at this time to end around time I get an release build 0.9 done for the true testers of the games. each day is a season and it will go for 250 years(750,000bc-749,750BC) just like the eventual game. So that comes to be around 1,000 days or around 3 years... There are going to be surprise events, maybe a text game or few placed in the RP eventually to see if people like it(instead of actual text go to the text game and place your choices)...

Alot of things are planned for this RP, Come take a part and make the RP more enjoyable and the more feedback(as per having board for feedback) the better the eventual games will be. Yes I said 3 years of development from start of RP, but the eventual first game may only take a year and half... but there is alot of mechanics I can test for patches. I will not be doing DLC/Expansion packs. All Patches will come free for previous owners and new owners will pay for the new data in the price.

Honestly I believe this RP will be the greatest yet and more immersive of them all, both in terms of gameplay and actually changing the games before they are completely done/released.

I am wondering if anyone is interested in starting a new RP along same lines as the last one. I will be running it with help from my wife and maybe a friend of mine.

The setup will be the same but with some twicks and such to make it more game like. Does this sound appealing to anyone? I am asking as per signups will depend on interest.
